What's new

Updates

Oxford Reference Online is updated at least three times a year with new titles, new editions, and additional features. In addition, all content is reviewed and updated regularly. For this update, over 5,900 entries have been updated, many of which are only available online in Oxford Reference Online: Premium Collection! Our systematic and regular updating policy ensures current, trustworthy content from Oxford. In addition, this update includes over 8,100 brand new entries.

New for April 2010: In this update we are increasing Oxford Reference Online’s medical content, as we introduce the eighth edition of the ever-popular Concise Medical Dictionary, alongside its valuable companion volume, the second edition of our A-Z of Medicinal Drugs. A Dictionary of Accounting has also been revised, with the fourth edition defining significant new developments in the accounting profession. We have an exclusive and extensive online-only update of The Concise Dictionary of World Place-Names, including over 1,000 new entries as well updates to hundreds of other entries. It sits well alongside one of our three completely new titles, A Dictionary of London Place-Names, with over 1,700 absorbing entries describing dates of first records, origins, and associations. The final two new titles are A Dictionary of Dentistry and A Dictionary of Critical Theory, the former significantly extending our medical coverage, with over 4,000 entries covering all the important terms used in dentistry today, and the latter providing comprehensive coverage of the entire spectrum of critical theory, from Marxism to postmodernism.
